leevers locavore

From an existing Save-A-Lot to a new gem in the neighborhood, a new steel-clad entry announces confidently that Locavore is something new and unique. The neglected storefront was completely opened to connect the activities of the neighborhood and store. The previous entry now connects the interior and new public patio.  A new mezzanine provides a showcase for local art, seating including a couple playful ski lift chairs, and a great view of the redesigned store.  Even Locavore’s locally fabricated tables and stair treads were repurposed from the original building.  Materials both old and new are celebrated throughout the store, the historic and modern do mix well at Locavore. A beautiful building with great bones, celebrated and elevated with local food stalls, unique graphics and wayfinding, a coffee spot, and even a beer and wine bar, which together create a lively community hub.
