casa VOLADIZO

Casa Voladizo, perched on a steep hillside in the Mexican desert, offers breathtaking views of an aquifer-fed valley and the Pacific Ocean. Located near Los Cerritos Beach in the remote village of El Pescadero, the project features a primary home and three casitas totaling 3,400 SF of interior space and over 2,000 SF of outdoor living areas. Designed to blend with the harsh desert landscape, the main house is mostly submerged, with large windows framing views of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains and the ocean. The casitas are strategically placed to maintain privacy while integrating with the hillside. The design emphasizes seamless indoor-outdoor living, with terraced outdoor spaces and traditional cooling methods like reflective stucco and thick masonry walls. Celebrating local construction traditions, the home uses concrete, stone, and stucco, combining modern architecture with traditional Mexican forms.
